Visit of students of Architecture & Planning, CEPT University Ahmedabad

The Consulate facilitated the visit of students of Architecture & Planning, CEPT University Ahmedabad to Urban Development Authority, Hambantota to study the Greater Hambantota Development Plan. They later visited the Hambantota Port & Convention Centre(M RICC) as part of the presentation by UDA.


The students visited the Chancery where the Consul General Shri Prem Kumar Nair gave a briefing on the Housing Project undertaken by Government of India in North, East and Central Provinces. of Sri Lanka as grant assistance. The group of 21 Students & 2 Assistant Professors had earlier visited few completed Indian housing sites in Jaffna.


A visit to the Galle Heritage Foundation was facilitated where a PowerPoint presentation explaining the efforts of Galle Heritage Foundation in conserving the UNESCO listed iconic Galle Fort was given. As part of their study of Geoffrey Bawa's works in Sri Lanka, a visit to University of Ruhuna, Matara was also arranged.
