Press Meeting at Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel Galle

On August 6th, 2024, the CGI Hambantota hosted a Press Meeting where the Consul General briefed the media on the Consulate's recent events and upcoming initiatives. The media were invited to participate in the "Study in India" Education Fair, scheduled from 9th to 11th August 2024 at Town Hall, Galle, in collaboration with the Department of Ayurveda, Southern Province. The briefing highlighted the Consulate's community engagements over the past year, emphasizing India's commitment to fostering strong cultural and educational ties with the Southern Province. Journalists were also informed about the diverse events planned for 'Bharat Week,' commemorating India's 78th Independence Day from 9th to 16th August 2024, including education fairs, film screenings, cultural performances by ICCR artists, and the launch of 'Bharat Corners' in the Southern and Uva Provinces.
