Inauguration of Bharat Corner at the Monaragala District Library.

The Consulate General of India, Hambantota, in collaboration with local authorities and institutions of the Monaragala District, inaugurated the "Bharat Corner" at the Monaragala District Library.

Hon’ble Governor of Uva Province, H.E. Mr. J.M. Kapila Jayasekara, and Consul General Shri Harvinder Singh jointly inaugurated this dedicated space, which features a rich collection of books and resources on Indian culture, history, literature, and more.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. D.W. Dahanayaka, Assistant District Secretary of Monaragala; Mr. Nishshanka Wijemanna, Chairman of the Library Service Association; Mr. Asith Sandaruwan, Director of the Library Service Association; Mrs. Harshani Sameera, Zonal Education Director of Monaragala; and several principals from schools in the district.

The "Bharat Corner" aims to foster cultural understanding and strengthen people-to-people ties through the promotion of Indian heritage and knowledge.
