21st June 2016 – International Day of Yoga at Monaragala

Consulate General of India, Hambantota also organized 2nd World International Day of Yoga at Monaragala Public Ground, Monaragala (Uva Province) from 1730 hrs to 1830 hrs. Hon’ble Governor of Uva Province was represented by Hon’ble Sports & Cultural Affairs Minister of Uva Province H.E. Mr. Saliya Sumeda Silva and the Chief Minister of Uva Province was represented by his Senior Advisor. Chief Secretary, Personal Secretary to Hon’ble Governor, Uva Province, Assistant District Secretary (Monaragala District) and other local government dignitaries attended the event. In addition to the above, there were about 200 participants including students from various schools. At the end of the yoga session the Common Yoga Protocol Books were distributed to the participants.
