Consulate General of India, Hambantota Organizes Cleanliness Drive at Weeravila Lake Area
Consulate General of India, Hambantota organized a Cleanliness Drive at Weeravila Lake area on 29th July 2021 as a part of celebrating India’s 75th Independence Day, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” which will be held on 15th August 2022. The Cleanliness Drive was held with the participation of Consul General, Mr. Dipin P.R , other officials of the Consulate & officers of 122 Brigade Gajaba Regiment of Sri Lankan Army, Weeravila. Thissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha & Hambantota Irrigation Department also supported the event.
02. Parallel to the cleanliness drive, a tree plantation programme was held during the occasion. Consul General along with other officials planted Ehala plants to beautify the area & also distributed Teak plants to officials who participated in the event.
03. The Consulate General of India has been interacting with government bodies, Universities, Schools and other institutions in Southern Province since the beginning of the Consulate through various activities & the Consulate will be organizing various activities in its jurisdiction in the near future to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”
