ITEC Day Celebration 2022
The Consulate General of India, Hambantota, organized ITEC Day 2022 on 28th September 2022, at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa for the ITEC Alumni and professionals from various sectors who have participated in various training courses in India as well as in e-ITEC courses, and officials from various Ministries of the Government of Southern Province & Monaragala District of Sri Lanka after the establishment of the Consulate in 2011.
02. Acting Consul General Mr. Atul Aggarwal delivered the welcome speech. Guest of Honor Mr. Sumith Alahakoon, Chief Secretary, Southern Province an ITEC alumni also shared his thoughts & experience on the occasion. Mr. A.U Welarathna, Mr. Krishantha Mahendra, Mr. Vidura Kariyawasam Mr. Bimal I De Silva, Ministry Secretaries from various Ministries of Southern Province graced the occasion as the guests of honor.
03. During the occasion , alumni reminisced about their pleasant experience of training in India, how it helped them grow professionally and network with new friends of different nationalities. The event provides an opportunity to meet, interact, share and relive their experience in India.
04. Many Officials from the districts of Galle, Matara, Hambantota & Monaragala have trained in India under ITEC since the inception of the Indian Consulate in Hambantota . The training courses availed were in diverse disciplines like Rural development, employment generation, sustainable development, women empowerment, Library management, SME/MSMEs, English, IT, Governance, Management etc. The Consulate renders all possible assistance to sustain this growing interest.
