On the occasion of celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2023 coinciding with 148^th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Consulate General of India, Hambantota organized a Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Creative Writing Contest for Students of Various Schools in Hambantota.

On 1st November 2023 the Award Giving Ceremony for the winners and participants of  Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Creative Writing Contest was held at the Consulate Premises. Students and Teachers from St. Mary’s College, Tzu Chi National School & Zahira College in Hambantota attended the award giving ceremony. During the event, as tribute to the Iron Man of India who united a diverse nation, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - A Recalling“ documentary was also screened.

Consulate General of India Hambantota also celebrated the 148^th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Consulate premises on 31^st October 2023. Officers of CGI Hambantota paid floral tribute to the Iron Man of India. They also took the Unity Pledge marking the National Unity Day.
