AKAM – Hambantota District Sevens Football Tournament

Consulate General of India, Hambantota in association with Hambantota Football Academy Sports Club organized “AKAM –Hambantota District Sevens Football Tournament” on 25^th December 2021 at the Lanka Salt Limited, Playground Hambantota. This tournament was organized as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” , an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements.

02.          Football teams from different parts of Hambantota District participated in the event. The Championship was won by Hambantota Football Academy Team and the winners were presented with trophies & awards by Consul General Mr. Dipin P.R. in the presence of the special guest Hambantota District Secretary Mr. Priyantha Sumanasekara. All the participants appreciated the effort of Consulate General of India, Hambantota for organizing such an event.

03. Consulate General of India, Hambantota has been actively promoting development activities in the field of Sports in Southern Province of Sri Lanka. During its regular interactions with schools in southern province the Consulate has been providing various supports to encourage the abiding interest in sports among emerging new athletes.
