Consulate General of India, Hambantota Extends Support to the Fishing
Community in Hamabantota.
From the inception of the Consulate in 2010, it has been extending its
support to the Sri Lankan community. Proving
it again, the Consulate provided Sanitation Materials such as facemasks & other
sanitation materials to the local fishing community on 12th January
2021 to support them to combat the Covid 19 pandemic situation. Mr. S.M
Nilamudeen the President of Hambantota Fishing Community & the Secretary
Mr. S.H Wasantha represented the community and accepted the materials from the
Consul General Mr. Dipin P.R.
Parallel to the above programme, on the occasion of observing Swachhta
Pakhwada 2021 (Clean India Mission 2021) Consulate General of India Hambantota
organized a Quiz Competition at the Consulate premises. Students from Hambantota
Zahira National School & Hambantota Tzu Chi National School actively took
part in the competition. Winners and the participants were awarded with prizes
and certificates by Consul General Mr. Dipin P.R & the Vice Consul Mr. Atul
Aggrawal.
