Inauguration
of R.K Narayan English Activity Room at Madawalana Maha Vidyalaya
Continuing its
supports to schools in Southern Province & Monaragala district in Sri
Lanka, Consul General of India, Hambantota, Mr. Dipin P.R inaugurated the English
activity room at Madawalana Maha Vidyalaya, established under the
aegis of Consulate General of India Hambantota on 23rd November 2021. The English activity room is named after the famous
Indian writer Mr. R.K Narayan.

Mr. Nalan Jyasekara, the Principal of Madawalana Maha, Teachers & Students
were present during the inauguration ceremony. They deeply appreciated the
contribution of Consulate General of India, Hambantota for the development of
their school.

The Consulate General of India has been interacting with Schools in Southern
Province since the beginning of the Consulate through various activities such
as distribution of Musical Instruments, Books & other essential reference
materials, cultural programmes, yoga programmes and workshops. In addition to this
every year India is offering 794 scholarships to students in Sri Lanka to pursue
education in India.
