Indian Musical Evening at
Dakshinapaya
As a part of celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi
Ka Amrit Mahotsav) Consulate General of India, Hambantota in association with Southern
Provincial Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs & Culture organized “Indian Musical Evening” on
17th December 2021 at Main Auditorium of Dakshinapaya Complex
Labuduwa.
02. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative
of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive
India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements.
India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 12th March 2021
formally launched India@75 celebrations at Sabarmathi
Ashram in Gujarat, 75 weeks before 15th August 2022.
03. The “Indian Musical Evening” was performed
by Sri Lanka Broadcast Corporation led by veteran music director Mr. W.J Upali
and the occasion was graced by the Southern Provincial governor Hon’ble (Dr).
Willie Gamage, Mr. Dipin P.R Consul General of India, Hambantota, Mr. Bimal
Indrajith De Silva Secretary, Southern Provincial Ministry of Sports, Youth
Affairs & Culture. Officials from all the ministries attended the function.
