Suryanamaskar Event at Matara

Consulate General of India Hambantota organized a Suryanamaskar Event on 9^th February 2022 at Matara Beach Park as a part of “Azadi Ka AMrit Mahotsave” Celebration.

02.       Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of her people, culture and achievements. India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 12th March 2021 formally launched India@75 celebrations at Sabarmathi Ashram in Gujarat, 75 weeks before 15th August 2022.

03.       The Suryanamaskar Event also coincided with 75 Crore Suryanamaskar Mission which is an unparalleled attempt by the government of India to create a unique world record. The event was attended by Matara local community, Government institutions University of Ruhuna & Yoga associations.
